Furniture donations are a large part of what helps Houston Furniture Bank work. Since our inception, giving back to those in Houston has been the mission of Houston Furniture Bank, and furniture donation is one of the ways that we can keep going. The proceeds for all sales of donated furniture go back to funding our programs, paying our staff, or helping to keep HFB going strong!
Houston Furniture Bank can accept most gently-used furniture that is free of holes, deep scratches, tears, or other signs of damage. If you have a large piece of furniture that you cannot transport, please fill out our Furniture Donation Pickup Form for assistance! Keep in mind that a donation is requested for furniture pickups to help cover the costs of transportation.

The Furniture Distribution Center is one of the many ways that the Houston Furniture Bank gives back to Houston. Not all of the furniture donated to us or mattresses we recycle are resold to fund our program. Much of the furniture that is donated to us is directly distributed to local families in need who do not have the resources to acquire all of the necessary furnishings for their home, and we also help to facilitate and complete donations from both citizens and philanthropic businesses alike.
Houston Furniture Bank rose to prominence as a way to help these families properly settle in when they were struggling to do so by themselves, and we’re honored to continue that practice of making our community stronger by providing a hand up to help out!

Both of our Furniture Outlets offer locations for lightly used mattresses to be harvested for parts that go directly towards creating new mattresses for those in need. Our Mattress Recycling programs work to provide Houston with cheap but high-quality alternatives to more expensive furniture stores, as well as contributing to our “Help Us Say No Kids on the Floor!” program for families in need.
Please note that there is a $20 charge to dropping off used mattresses to HFB. This charge covers the cost of transportation from our facility to the Mattress Recycling Center, and for the processing of the mattresses.
