Founded in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Mattress Builders at Houston Furniture Bank builds high-quality, affordable mattresses within the walls of Houston Furniture Bank. After the storm, Houston Furniture Bank was able to provide furniture assistance to 3,500 survivors with the help of this program.
Today, Mattress Builders are creating bed sets for Houston Furniture Bank’s No Kids on the Floor initiative. For this program, our team builds durable twin mattresses and foundations, designed for years of sustained use by the children we serve. Mattress Builders at Houston Furniture Bank is a social business, created and designed to address a social problem. Mattress Builders at Houston Furniture Bank employs 8 workers who provide Houston Furniture Bank with additional flexible resources. Any profits realized are reinvested in Houston Furniture Bank’s charitable mission of Making Empty Houses Homes.
Purchasing Mattress Builder’s Products
Mattress Builder’s products are available to other non-profit agencies at a special rate. Additional items are available for wholesale purchase by businesses. Members of the public can find Mattress Builders Products at the Furniture Outlet at Houston Furniture Bank.
