Tom was recruited to Houston Furniture Bank by long-time supporter Stephanie Haynes, a Houston Furniture Bank Advisory Board member. Tom has spent 45 years in the hospitality industry. He supports nonprofits that provide services to people with special needs and children, as well as cancer research. Mark has been on the Board of Directors for three years and has provided significant support to the Mattress Recycling Center. Steve Gombar 1952-2015

Steve Gombar, a volunteer and founding board member of the Houston Furniture Bank, passed away peacefully during the early hours of December 13th, 2015. Steve has been involved with the Furniture Bank since it’s inception in 1992. Steve Gombar always cared greatly about people and his dedication will forever be an example to follow. Steve will be greatly missed and may he rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, the Gombar Family has asked that donations be made to the Houston Furniture Bank.
