The Furniture Bank of Houston hosted their “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep” Gala at the River Oaks Country Club, Saturday, June 1 to honor the families who supported our mission to assist families with furniture and implement change to prevent children in the Greater Houston area from having children sleep on the floor with the #NoKidsOnTheFloor initiative.
Gala Co-Chairs Board Members Francie Willie and Bernie Falco created a top-tier event emceed by retired KPRC meteorologist, Khambrel Marshall, and highlighting the achievements of the legacy honorees-Hoffer Furniture by the Hoffer Family, Finger Furniture by the Finger Family, and Star Furniture by the Wolff Family.
The gala was well attended by many known community members including Fort County Judge KP George and Precinct 4 Commissioner Dexter McCoy who have both been very involved with the Stafford location for furniture distribution to families. Donations for both our silent and live auction made a significant difference to our fundraising efforts and were deeply appreciated.
