In December 2017, Houston Furniture Bank shared a donation opportunity with friends and supporters – the ability for your donations to have double the impact with a matching grant from The Meadows Foundation. What this meant that, during the donation period, every dollar raised (totaling $50,000) would be matched by the Foundation.
You helped us meet this challenge, helping to donate $50,000 which was matched with the grant’s additional $50,000 in support of Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts.

In the year following Hurricane Harvey Houston Furniture Bank has provided assistance to more than 2,000 Houston-area families, with additional efforts still underway. Although it’s been a year since the storm, many families are still struggling to recover from this devastating event and we are working to ensure that no child has to sleep on the floor.
