The new Houston Furniture Bank facility officially opened for business earlier this month, with more than 200 guests, friends, volunteers, sponsors, supporters and staff joining in the celebration. The new facility more than triples the space available for Houston Furniture Bank programs and services, from 20,000 square feet to 75,000. This will help increase the number of families served to 500 families a month. The new facility houses all the Houston Furniture Bank’s programs and services, including:
- a new Houston Furniture Bank Outlet Center location
- storage for donated, gently-used furniture
- a receiving area for large deliveries
- a sustainable mattress recycling operation
- an area for the Decorating Interiors – Volunteers at Your Service (DIVAS) members
Houston Furniture Bank extends thanks to the sponsors and donors who made today’s event possible: City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department, New Tech Global, Ralph Marek, Marek Brothers, Fondren Foundation, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Grainger Foundation, Simmons Foundation, Saint Martin’s Episcopal Church, Perry Seeberger, Seeberger Architects, and HEB.
Houston Furniture Bank also gives thanks to all the supporters, volunteers, and partners who have worked with its programs throughout its nearly 25 years of service, including: The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, Star of Hope, City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department, and Houston Endowment.
Our new facility is located at 8220 Mosley Rd., Houston, TX 77075. For more information, call (713) 842-9771.
