According to the advocacy group Children at Risk, 300,000 children are estimated to be sleeping on the floor every night in the Greater Houston Area. 1 in 3 children is living in poverty.

According to Rachel Dawkins, M.D., with the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital,

Studies have shown that kids who regularly get an adequate amount of sleep have improved attention, behavior, learning, memory, and overall mental and physical health. Not getting enough sleep can lead to high blood pressure, obesity and even depression. Learn More

Our Goal

The Furniture Bank is working with partner organizations and the community to create a healthy living environment where no child sleeps on the floor. In a city of great wealth and great need, we are so thankful to those who are able to help sustain this program!

A History of Service

The Furniture Bank has served over 50,000 children in 32 years. In 2022 alone, over 1,200 children received a bed from The Furniture Bank, thanks to the support of people like you!
