This is more than a screening. It’s a call to action for a city where over 300,000 children sleep without a proper bed — and a celebration of the community stepping up to help.
Why This Moment Matters
Since launching the No Kids on the Floor initiative in 2018, The Furniture Bank has provided beds to more than 4,000 children across Houston. With the help of partner nonprofits, donors, and volunteers, they’ve delivered over 100,000 pieces of furniture to local families, giving hope and dignity where it’s needed most.
In 2025 alone, a record-breaking $300,000 was raised during their annual gala, accelerating the mission to end furniture poverty in Houston.
Meet the Visionaries
- Oli Mohammed – Founder & Executive Director of The Furniture Bank. His leadership has transformed a local nonprofit into a city-wide movement for dignity and basic needs.
- Ryne Thunderhawk – Creative lead at Thunderhawk Creative, responsible for visual storytelling and the upcoming film’s impactful narrative.
